Boiler breakdowns always seem to happen at the most inconvenient time. Our lives are so busy and when things are going well we never even notice that our faithful servants are running flat out everyday. Old boilers too should be checked at least every 2 years.

In most cases the boiler problems OGC comes across on a daily basis can simply be solved without any parts being bought whatsoever. These can be attributed to poor maintenace of servicable parts such as the expansion vessels , blockages or scale in a pipes, ‘burner pressure out of calibration’ or poor electrical contacts. Do not attempt to repair the boiler yourself as playing around with gas is illegal and dangerous.
After your breakdown visit , if a part is needed do not assume the worst as most components can be purchased cheaply and are readily available off the shelf at our local suppliers. Not all fixes involve scary , worst case scenarios. By giving your boiler what it needs you can nurture it back to a reliable state of health and prolong its life, much as if it was new again.
